Whether you are a beginner or a professional, M.POWER’s Precision Sharpening System (PSS1) will deliver a flat ground edge every time. A standard kit includes two DMT diamond stones, but in this PLUS model, you get four! Work through Extra-Coarse (60 micron), Medium (35 micron), Fine (25 micron) and Extra-Fine (9 micron) for a razor sharp finish. PSS1’s fixed angle technology gives your tool a flat ground edge, unlike those achieved on an abrasive wheel or a traditional oil stone. PSS1 holds the blade stationary and its angle constant while the DMT diamond stone is guided across the cutting edge (at a 90° angle to the tool’s normal cutting direction) at either 25° or 30°, depending on your application, making the bevel flat and the edge true, lasting and requiring minimal maintenance. For a micro bevel, start sharpening at 25° and finish at 30°. The unique lateral stroke of the PSS1 achieves a much finer edge than you could expect with a regular stone. This is because the abrasive striations or ridges made by sharpening occur across the blade width rather than in a traditional method where the ridges run up the leading edge of the tool like the profile of a saw blade.
